Using Negative Display Sequence for Hidden Parameters

I need a parameter that dynamically populates a lexical reference in my SQL, but the user should never see or interact with it on the run window. How is this defined?

You can define these using Negative display sequence numbers in the parameter setup. This hides the parameter from the user interface.

What is a common example of where a hidden parameter is required?

Report AR Transactions and Lines, for instance, uses a hidden Ledger parameter to dynamically generate a string for the revenue account columns, based on the chart of accounts segment setup.

And these hidden parameters typically populate which type of anchor?

They are often used to populate an &lexical anchor with a SQL text dynamically before the report execution begins.
