Using Logical Expressions for Multiple Values Parameter Check

Avatar photoCustomer June 27, 2021 at 4:42 pm

I want to enable the ‘Multiple Values’ checkbox for a parameter so users can input a list of account numbers. What specific criteria must the parameter’s SQL text meet for this checkbox to be available?

The SQL text must include a bind variable restriction using one of the following comparison operators: =, , !=, like, or not like. Additionally, the table column must be on the left side of the comparison operator.

If I use a function like upper(column_name) like upper(:bind_variable), will that still work?

Yes, functions are supported, such as upper(column_name) like upper(:bind_variable).

And are there any anchor type restrictions?

Yes, the multiple values functionality is only available for parameters using anchor styles 1=1 or &lexical, not for :bind anchors.
