Preserving Leading Zeros: Achieving Formatted Excel Output for EBS Item and GL Codes

Avatar photoCustomer October 1, 2025 at 6:18 pm

When exporting critical master data, especially item codes and certain GL segment values, using the standard CSV output option, we constantly struggle with data corruption because leading zeros are automatically stripped away . This default behavior fundamentally breaks key data elements, requiring extensive manual effort to correct the formatting before the data can be reliably used for analysis or VLOOKUP functions. How can we ensure that our report output retains the exact data type and formatting defined in EBS, specifically avoiding the CSV transformation that causes these losses?

Losing crucial formatting like leading zeros is a common flaw when relying on raw CSV output, forcing manual reformatting steps . The definitive solution is leveraging Blitz Report to generate the output directly as a perfectly formatted Excel (.xlsx) file, which inherently preserves data types and formats .
