Monitoring Database Object Usage in SGA Buffer Cache

We need to identify which database objects (tables/indexes) are heavily utilizing the SGA buffer cache and potentially forcing other necessary objects out. Which report shows this usage by object?

Run the DBA SGA Buffer Cache Object Usage report. This report shows SGA buffer cache space usage broken down by object names in megabytes.

What is the key metric in that report that tells me if an object is entirely or mostly cached?

Look at the ‘Object Percentage’ column. A value of 100% indicates that the object is completely resident in the buffer cache. This helps identify ‘hot’ objects and potential objects that should be pinned.

If I notice an imbalance between our Shared Pool and Buffer Cache, where can I find the current split?

The DBA SGA Memory Allocation report provides the current SGA memory usage in gigabytes, specifically showing the split between the buffer cache and the shared pool.
