Yes, you can leverage the native Oracle EBS Audit function to track master data changes. Blitz Report serves as the perfect mechanism to report on and analyze this audit data efficiently, streamlining operations for master data maintenance and compliance teams.

Traditional methods for querying audit tables can be cumbersome. How does Blitz Report simplify extracting and interpreting this data for reporting?

Blitz Report is designed to work seamlessly with the technical output of the EBS audit function. It allows Master Data Maintenance (MDM) teams and support consultants to run complex SQL queries against the audit tables easily, presenting the changes in a clear, formatted Excel file.

Can this auditing feature specifically track changes to essential data points, such as changes to the Promise Date in Order Management?

If you have configured the EBS Audit capability to track changes to critical fields like the promise date (setup parameters), Blitz Report can report on those changes. It allows rapid generation of comprehensive reports showing who changed what and when, critical for maintaining data integrity and speeding up operations.

We are also concerned about restricting sensitive data access within reports. How does Blitz Report enforce data security?

    • Support August 16, 2024 at 1:15 am

Security is paramount. You can control exactly which tables Blitz Report can access by implementing standard Oracle Virtual Private Database (VPD) security policies. This allows enforcement of row-level and column-level security policies, ensuring that sensitive data is secured based on the user’s role or responsibility.

Does implementing this reporting capability require extensive development time or registering custom objects every time a new audit report is needed?

    • Support August 18, 2024 at 8:57 am

No. One of the primary benefits is agility. Blitz Report allows consultants with their favorite SQL scripts to drop them directly into the tool and start generating reports immediately, avoiding the lengthy process of registering new concurrent programs.

If we introduce new reports into the system for auditing, how can we ensure that the report definition itself is managed and tracked?

    • Support August 20, 2024 at 1:43 am

Blitz Report includes internal mechanisms for version control. When you create a new report, the tool registers it with a version control number and automatically tracks modifications with an audit/version history, ensuring reports are not duplicated and modifications are traceable.
