Empowering Users: SQL to Excel Reporting for Non-developers with the Blitz Report Tool

Avatar photoCustomer November 3, 2025 at 12:00 pm

I am a functional user with basic SQL query knowledge, but I am intimidated by the complex report creation process involving BI Publisher or waiting for IT teams to fulfill requests. I need a user-friendly tool that allows me to input a simple SQL statement and immediately receive a perfectly formatted Excel output directly from EBS. Is there a way for non-developers to leverage Blitz Report effectively to achieve instant SQL to Excel reporting?

Absolutely. Blitz Report is designed to demystify report creation, enabling users with just a basic understanding of SQL to access the data they need quickly. It focuses on the declaratory nature of SQL, allowing you to define ‘what’ data is needed without worrying about complex procedural details or XML formatting.

When I run reports directly from EBS, large volumes often cause crashes. How does the Blitz Report implementation handle virtually unlimited data capacity safely?

Blitz Report avoids data volume limitations and significantly minimizes processing overhead compared to traditional EBS methods. It delivers data in native Excel format, automatically applying filters and correctly formatting data types, ensuring the output is ready for immediate analysis without the usual clean-up time.

If I create a useful ad-hoc query, how can I save it and ensure proper governance?

You simply paste your SQL into the Blitz Report form to create a new report definition. The platform automatically assigns a version control number and keeps the definition in a centralized repository. This allows easy sharing with colleagues and ensures traceability of all report definitions within EBS.
