ECC Data Load Blocked by Weblogic Connection Filter Rule 14

We have successfully installed ECC V2, but when we run the Payables Command Center Data Load concurrent program, it fails with an error indicating ‘Connection rejected, filter blocked Socket, weblogic.security.net.FilterException: [Security:090220]rule 14’. What is causing this filter rejection?

This specific error, `Connection rejected, filter blocked Socket, weblogic.security.net.FilterException: [Security:090220]rule 14`, often occurs when the ECC Weblogic domain’s Connection Filter denies traffic trying to access the managed server port, even though the EBS host should be permitted. This denial specifically happened on port 7776 in one observed troubleshooting instance. Although the EBS host is typically allowed to access this port for ECC data loading, the system may be blocking the data load request originating from the EBS concurrent manager attempting to communicate with the ECC core services on the managed server port.

How can I check or resolve this? We need to run the initial full load immediately for AP and AR.

To resolve this, you may need to locate and temporarily remove the restrictive connection filter rule within the Weblogic Admin Console. In a previous example facing this exact issue, the request completed successfully only after removing a filter rule entry such as `* * 7776 deny`. Once the filter rule is removed or adjusted to allow the necessary communication from the EBS server to the ECC managed server port, you should rerun your Payables Command Center Data Load concurrent program. Remember that after the initial full load completes, you should schedule these programs to run in `INCREMENTAL_LOAD` mode for periodic data updates.

What log files should I check to confirm the data load progress and subsequent errors, if any?

You must check the ECC data load concurrent request logs in EBS to see if the load completed successfully or failed with errors. If the concurrent request ends with a status like ‘CANCELLED’, as seen in some troubleshooting scenarios, you should also check the database alert log for any related errors that might indicate an issue preventing the load from finalizing. Additionally, in ECC itself, the log file, such as `ecc.log`, would show the processing messages, including the specific error indicating the connection filter block.
