Archiving and Streamlining FSG Report Outputs

We need to finalize our year-end financial statements. I want to save the output as an archive file that contains only static values, ensuring it can be distributed without any live connection back to Oracle. What Blitz FSG tool should I use for this?

You should use the Snapshot tool, available under Blitz FSG Tools . The Snapshot tool converts your live Blitz FSG report into static, frozen values by removing all underlying Blitz FSG functions (like `br_balance`) from the workbook . It replaces these functions solely with the returned numerical results, effectively disconnecting the report from Oracle . Critically, it preserves all other standard Excel formulas and formatting within the workbook .

Is the Snapshot tool similar to using the ‘Paste Values’ function in Excel?

While similar in result to Excel’s ‘Paste Values’, the Snapshot tool targets Blitz FSG functions exclusively . This means it removes the database connectivity functions while leaving your standard Excel formulas (e.g., sums, subtotals, complex calculations) intact, making it ideal for finalizing reports intended for archiving or distribution .

My financial reports often contain many rows that result in zero balances for the period, making them cluttered. Is there a quick way to clean up the report presentation?

Yes, for improving report readability, you can use the Hide Zeros tool, also found under Blitz FSG Tools . This feature is specifically useful for streamlining reports with numerous empty rows by instantly hiding any row in the report that contains only zero values .

If I accidentally use the Hide Zeros feature, how do I restore the hidden rows?

If you need to restore the hidden rows, you simply click the Unhide Zeros button, which will show all rows previously concealed by the Hide Zeros feature .
