PER Organization Upload creates and updates Oracle HRMS organizations from Excel – their classifications (enable/disable), organization information types and attributes, and the HR Organization cost allocation key flexfield – all within a single business group, via the standard Oracle public API.

When to use it

  • Mass-create new organizations and assign their classifications, information types and attributes in one pass.
  • Update existing organization header data (name, location, dates, internal/external, flexfields) in bulk.
  • Enable or disable an organization classification across many organizations.
  • Maintain organization information-type segment values (operating-unit, inventory-org, legal-entity settings) in bulk.
  • Populate the HR Organization cost allocation key flexfield segments for many organizations.
  • Replicate a configured set of organizations from one environment to another.

Before you start

  • Blitz Report is installed and you are signed in to a responsibility tied to the intended business group.
  • A business group already exists – this upload works within an existing one and cannot create business groups.
  • Locations referenced already exist; the classifications, information types and value sets are those defined for the business group’s legislation.

Choose a template

TemplateUse it for
Tabular Layout (default)Information-type segments in a compact tabular format, with a concatenated label column as a positional reference. Best for mass uploads where data is prepared externally and pasted in.
Form LayoutEach information field is preceded by its own individual segment-label column, mirroring the Oracle Forms layout. Best for small, targeted creates/updates typed directly in the template.

Step 1 – Choose a template and mode, set the parameters and download

In Blitz Report, open PER Organization Upload, choose your template, choose an Upload Mode (Create for an empty template, or Create, Update to download existing organizations), and set the parameters:

ParameterPurpose
Upload ModeCreate or Create, Update. Default is Create.
Business GroupThe business group to work in (required).
Organization Type / Name / Location / Status / Classification / Information TypeRestrict which existing organizations are downloaded.

Run the upload to download and open the Excel file. Each organization, classification and information type is automatically handled as a create or an update depending on whether it already exists.

Step 2 – Enter the organizations

This is a parent/child upload: use one row per classification + information type, repeating the organization header values on each of its rows. On the header enter the Organization Name, Organization Type, Date From and Location. Each row carries one Classification (with its Enabled flag) and one Org Information Type with its segment values.

Step 3 – Disable a classification (optional)

To turn a classification off, set its Enabled column to No. There is no delete of organizations or records.

Step 4 – Validate and Save

Click Validate and Save. This checks for missing required values and runs the upload’s validation, then saves the file. Correct anything it flags before continuing.

Step 5 – Upload and view the result

Back in Blitz Report, click Upload and select your saved file. This submits the Blitz Upload request, which creates or updates each organization, classification and information type. When it finishes, a result report opens showing each row as success or error.

What’s produced

  • Created and updated organizations with their classifications, information types, attributes and cost allocation segments.
  • A result report listing every row with a status (success or error) and a message.

Common questions

Can I create a new business group with this upload?
No – only organizations within an existing business group. Use the Define Business Group form for business groups.

Why are some columns read-only?
Business Group, Classification, Information Type, Internal/External and the segment-label columns are reference/keys that drive the dynamic dropdowns and aren’t directly editable on downloaded rows.

How do I disable a classification?
Set its Enabled column to No. There is no separate delete column.

One organization has several classifications or information types – how do I enter them?
Use one row per classification + information type combination, repeating the same organization header values on each row.

My information-type change didn’t apply and I got a warning – why?
A few information types (Business Group Information, Canada Employer Identification, and the FPT branch/bank info types) can be created but not updated by this upload; make the change in the form.
