Introducing the project implementation and upgrade toolkit

Our end-users frequently face limitations when trying to export large volumes of data directly from EBS Forms (e.g., query results in a transaction window). Standard exports often truncate data or require awkward CSV handling. Can the Blitz Report toolkit solve the problem of mass exporting volume data directly from the form interface?

Yes, the Blitz Report Toolkit provides specific methods for exporting mass data from any EBS form by employing its dedicated Excel export engine. This process is explicitly designed to overcome the known data limitations and formatting issues traditionally associated with CSV file output from EBS screens.

How large of a dataset can we reliably export using this engine? Are there any hidden row limits we need to worry about?

A major advantage of Blitz Report is that there are no data limits on the output. Whether your query returns five million records or just a few thousand, the tool generates perfectly formatted Excel or CSV files reliably. This avoids the restrictive 65,536 row limit associated with older BI Publisher XLS templates.

If we create a custom export report for, say, Order Management details, can this report be immediately integrated into the Order Organizer form?

Yes. You can follow the procedure for How to add Blitz Report™ to your favorite form. This integration often uses the Zoom functionality, allowing users to access the powerful export engine contextually from within the Order Organizer, enhancing the ability to optimize exports like DIFOT metrics.

We need this fast export capability especially for operational data related to ASCP exceptions that currently must be manually pulled from the Planner Workbench.

Blitz Report is utilized to directly replace Oracle ASCP exceptions. This means planners can rapidly export all necessary exception data into Excel for analysis, avoiding the cumbersome PWB interface limitations.

Can we grant granular control over which users are allowed to run these mass data exports?

    • Support November 6, 2021 at 7:57 pm

Access to every Blitz Report is controlled by assignment to a specific user, module, site, or responsibility within EBS. Furthermore, data security (row and column access) can be reinforced using Oracle VPD policies.

We need the technical SQL for these high-volume reports to be version controlled during upgrades.

    • Support November 10, 2021 at 2:53 am

The development environment within Blitz Report ensures that all consultant-provided SQL scripts maintain full version control with audit comments tracked directly within the EBS instance, mitigating project risk.
