Forms Productivity: Enabling Seamless Blitz Report Launch via EBS Zoom Functionality

Avatar photoCustomer September 29, 2025 at 9:43 am

We need to allow users to quickly generate relevant Blitz Reports directly from transactional forms like the Sales Order form, using the Zoom functionality, without manually re-entering key data like the Customer Name. The standard form export is too slow for large data volumes. What specific configuration is required, typically through Forms Personalization, to seamlessly integrate reports into EBS forms using Zoom and ensure context data is automatically passed to the report parameters?

Integrating Blitz Report via the Zoom function significantly improves efficiency by allowing background processing of large reports and eliminating manual data entry. The process requires capturing the target form name (e.g., OEXOEORD) and using Forms Personalization to define the assignment.

How do we link the report to the specific form and ensure it recognizes which field contains the relevant context data, like the customer name?

You must create an assignment within the Blitz Report setup form, specifically an ‘include’ option linked to the target form name. If you wish to pass contextual data, you use the ‘Examine’ function on the form field (e.g., Customer field) to record the form Block and Field name, and then include these details in the assignment definition.

What is the end-user benefit regarding performance when launching reports this way?

The reports are run as standard Concurrent Requests in the background, allowing users to immediately continue transactional work without the screen locking. This time-saving approach is crucial when dealing with high volumes that often crash or hang the standard form export.
