Implementing Blitz Report in PWB: Step-by-Step Forms Personalization Guide for Custom Menu Integration

Integrating Blitz Report directly into the PWB form enhances user experience significantly. This is achieved using standard Forms Personalization. You must create two sequences: one for the special menu entry displayed in the Toolbar Actions, and a second one to launch the Blitz Report function.

In the second sequence, set the action Type to ‘Bulletin’ and the Bulletin Type to launch the Blitz Report function. The critical step is setting the Function Code to `XXEN_REPORTS`, which calls the underlying Blitz Report executable. Optionally, you can include a parameter like `report_search=”MSC – Exceptions”` to default a specific report.

Once saved and the form is restarted, the planner selects the new menu option from the Actions menu on the PWB toolbar. This opens the Blitz Report form, allowing immediate report selection and export of data to formatted Excel via a concurrent request.

This integration enables efficient access to high-volume planning reports without being subject to slow form exports or the typical ‘hour-glass wait’ delays.
