MRP Item Forecast Upload creates, updates and deletes item forecast entries in existing Oracle MRP/ASCP forecasts from Excel. Download the entries of one or more forecasts, change quantities, dates, bucket types or comments, add new entries for any item, and load them through Oracle’s standard MRP forecast interface.
When to use it
- Mass-load a new item forecast into an existing forecast from a spreadsheet.
- Bulk-update quantities, dates, bucket types or comments on existing forecast entries.
- Delete specific forecast entries by setting their quantity to 0.
- Completely replace the contents of a forecast in one pass.
- Copy entries from one forecast to another.
- Maintain project/task- or production-line-specific forecast demand in bulk.
Before you start
- Your responsibility has access to the inventory organizations of the forecasts.
- The forecast already exists. Entries are loaded to a forecast, never directly to a forecast set.
- The items exist in the forecast’s organization.
- Forecast dates fall within the organization’s manufacturing calendar.
Choose a template

Step 1 – Set the parameters
Open MRP Item Forecast Upload in Blitz Report, choose the template and set the parameters:

In Update mode, enter a Forecast Set or Forecast Name.
Step 2 – Run to download the Excel file
Click Run. The Excel file downloads and opens with one row per existing forecast entry, or an empty sheet in Create mode.
Step 3 – Enter or change the forecast entries
Organization Code, Forecast and Item identify a downloaded entry and cannot be changed. On a downloaded row change the Forecast Date, Forecast End Date, Quantity, Bucket Type, Workday Control, Comments, Project, Task or Wip Line Code. Set the Quantity to 0 to delete the entry. Updating an entry also sets its Original Quantity to the new quantity.
For a new entry add a row with the Organization Code, Forecast, Item, Forecast Date and Quantity. Enter a Forecast End Date to spread the quantity as a rate per bucket up to that date. Blank Bucket Type and Workday Control take the parameter defaults. Forecast Set, Forecast Description, Item Description, UOM and Planner are filled in for information.
Step 4 – Validate and Save
Click Validate and Save. This checks for missing required values and saves the file. Correct any rows it flags before uploading.
Step 5 – Upload the file
In Blitz Report click Upload and select the saved file. This submits the upload request, which loads the entries through the MRP forecast interface.
Step 6 – Review the result report
When the request completes, a result report opens listing every uploaded row with its status and message. Deleted entries show the message Forecast Entry Deleted.

Common questions
How do I delete a forecast entry?
Set its Quantity to 0 and upload. The result report shows “Forecast Entry Deleted”.
Can I wipe a whole forecast and reload it?
Yes. Run in Create mode with Delete Existing Forecast set to “DELETE all existing forecast entries and replace”. All existing entries of each forecast in the file are deleted before the new entries are loaded.
Can I create a forecast or forecast set with this upload?
No. The forecast must already exist; the upload maintains its entries. Entries cannot be loaded to a forecast set directly.
How do I copy entries to another forecast?
Download the entries in Create, Update mode, copy the rows to new rows, change the Forecast on the new rows and upload.
What happens if a date falls on a non-workday?
Workday Control decides: the entry is rejected, or the date is shifted to the previous or next workday. Set the default as a parameter and override it per row.
Why can’t I pick a forecast I did not download?
In Update mode only the downloaded forecasts are offered. Use Create or Create, Update mode to add entries to other forecasts.
