Where do my report outputs reside and what are they called?

I’m confused because I see different filenames when I download a report versus when I look in the concurrent request output directory. How many different output files are created?

Blitz Report manages up to three different output files, which can potentially have different names.

Can you list the three types?

Certainly. 1. The file name downloaded to the client desktop when you open the report. 2. The output file on the concurrent processing server (in `$APPLCSF/out`), which is also the attachment name for Oracle EBS delivery options. 3. An additional output file placed into a specified directory on either the application or database server.

If I define a custom file name using tokens in the ‘Output Filename’ option, which of these files does that apply to?

The ‘Output Filename’ option only defines the name of the file downloaded to the client desktop.

If I use the third output file location, can I also customize its name?

Yes. If you define an additional output directory, you use the ‘Additional Out. Filename’ option to define the naming convention for those files, again using tokens dynamically.
