Splitting report data across multiple Excel tabs

Avatar photoCustomer February 17, 2022 at 7:38 pm

I have a report containing data for multiple legal entities, and I need each entity’s data to appear on a separate tab within the same Excel workbook. How can I automate this split?

You can use the Sheet Break feature in the template configuration. The Sheet Break function allows you to split the output file into different sheets.

On which column should I apply the Sheet Break setting?

The split is triggered whenever the value in the selected column changes. You would apply the ‘Sheet Break’ option to the Legal Entity column to achieve the desired segmentation.

Where is the Sheet Break setting found within the template screen?

It is located in the section defining the Displayed Columns, alongside the ‘Aggr.’ and ‘Sort Order’ settings.

Does this work even if the report generates hundreds of thousands of rows?

Yes, it organizes the data output. Remember that Blitz Report can also handle very large row counts by automatically overflowing data exceeding 1,048,576 rows to additional sheets, even without a configured Sheet Break.
