Hands On Tutorial – Oracle EBS – SQL to Excel Reporting for Non-developers

Avatar photoCustomer November 6, 2020 at 4:05 pm

Our business users are frequently frustrated by the long turnaround times when waiting for the IT team to fulfill simple, ad-hoc data requests. Is Blitz Report truly accessible enough to enable EBS SQL to Excel reporting for non-developers with minimal training?

Absolutely. Blitz Report targets this exact issue, addressing the frustration that many Oracle EBS end users feel about IT requests. We provide tutorials specifically designed for non-developers, demonstrating how to quickly extract data using SQL directly into Excel.

If a non-developer is running a pre-defined report, but needs to hide or rearrange a few columns for their specific analysis, does this still require developer involvement?

No, this is a key feature for end-user autonomy. While a business user cannot *create* the underlying SQL report itself, they have significant control over the output presentation. They can easily modify the report layout using the folder style template functionality. They can add, reposition, or remove report columns with just a few mouse clicks , thereby reducing IT dependency.

How is the tool structured to ensure rapid user adoption across all functional teams (SCM, Financials, HR)?

We gave Blitz Report the same look and feel as Oracle Forms to eliminate the steep learning curve associated with new tools. It is integrated via standard Oracle Forms and OAF pages , and it leverages familiar EBS commands and the standard security framework , ensuring minimum training is required.

What about report availability? If they need specialized reports covering core process areas like Record to Report (R2R) or Purchase to Pay (P2P)?

Blitz Report is seeded with a library of operational reports covering core process areas such as R2R, O2C (Order to Cash), SCM, and P2P. If a report isn’t instantly available, users can browse the open source community reporting library, copy an existing solution, and adapt it, further reducing development time.
