A frustrating recurring issue is that standard Oracle exports persistently treat critical financial fields, such as currency amounts or item quantities, as generic text strings in Excel . This forces significant manual data manipulation before we can perform simple arithmetic or link data using functions like VLOOKUP. Why does Oracle not automatically recognize these as number fields, and what solution can we implement to guarantee that currency and numerical data export immediately ready for calculation?
