DBA Efficiency: Blitz Report Simplifies AWR Report Analysis for EBS Performance Tuning

Avatar photoCustomer October 17, 2025 at 6:29 pm

Analyzing the standard Oracle AWR report is a tedious and time-consuming process that often requires significant experience just to decipher the cryptic short module codes. We need a solution that simplifies AWR Report Analysis to quickly pinpoint poorly performing Oracle EBS programs and underlying SQL code lines for effective EBS Performance Tuning. Can the Blitz Report DBA toolkit provide a clearer, more efficient method for this task?

The complexity of analyzing standard AWR reports, especially identifying which code package requires attention, is a major challenge. The Blitz Report DBA toolkit offers specific AWR Blitz Reports, like the ‘DBA AWR SQL Performance Summary’ report, that removes this complexity entirely.

What information does this Blitz Report return, and how does it make identification easier than the native AWR output?

The Blitz Report returns functional names and responsibilities alongside the poor-performing code and the exact code line number requiring attention. This allows DBAs to quickly identify the source of the bottleneck, whether it’s a specific Form, Concurrent Request, or Business Event.

Can we automate snapshots or run these diagnostic reports regularly, and specify parameters to narrow down the data?

Yes, these reports can be scheduled through the standard Concurrent Manager and emailed periodically, providing a constant reference point and making it easier to analyze workloads. The report allows filtering using parameters like SQL Text contains, Module Type, Module contains, and Date From/To, enabling targeted diagnostics.

For customers using multitenant databases, we offer updated Diagnostic Pack reports designed specifically to address how AWR data is stored and accessed at the PDB level.
