Why do I see all reports but my colleague doesn’t?

I am a developer and I can see every report in the system, even unassigned ones. Why is my standard user colleague unable to see the same reports?

Your access level is higher. Users having their access profile set to ‘User Admin’, ‘Developer’ or ‘System’ can access all reports in the system, regardless of report assignments. Standard users, however, can see and run reports restricted to their assignments only.

I am testing a new report and need to hide it temporarily from end-users before assignments are finalized. What setting controls this basic visibility?

You should use the ‘Enabled’ setting on the Report Header. Disabling a report removes it from the standard user report list. This is useful during development and testing.

If I disable a report, can I, as a developer, still run it?

Yes, even if a report is disabled, users with ‘User Admin’, ‘Developer’, or ‘System’ access can still run it.

And what if I, a developer, set the profile option ‘Blitz Report Filter Reports by Responsibility’ to ‘Yes’?

If a developer sets that profile to ‘Yes’, only the Run window will show the restricted list based on the current responsibility, even though the Setup window still displays all reports. This lets you check if a report is correctly available under a specific responsibility.
