Resolving CSV File Parsing Issues Due to Regional Settings

Avatar photoCustomer August 23, 2022 at 11:34 pm

Users in one of our regions, where the default separator is a semicolon, cannot open Blitz Report CSV outputs correctly in Excel. How can I fix this via a profile option?

You should set the profile option ‘Blitz Report CSV File Delimiter’ according to the client’s regional settings. This allows you to specify the delimiting character in Blitz Report CSV output files.

What is the default delimiter if this profile option is not set?

The default delimiter is a comma (,).

What happens if I set the output format to TSV instead?

Setting the output format to TSV (tab-separated-values) is Option 1 for solving this issue, but requires additional client setup to associate the TSV file extension with Excel.
