Why do segment values with leading zeros cause my discovery processes to fail sometimes?

Discovery requires that all segment values be in text format to preserve their formatting. If not formatted as text, Excel automatically converts them to numbers, resulting in the loss of leading zeros, which causes the discovery to fail.

What is the recommended solution to ensure leading zeros are retained?

There are two main options: you can either pre-format the Excel cells as Text (via Number Format > Text), or you can prefix the segment values with an apostrophe (e.g., enter ‘001).

If I need to discover all values, what is the best tool?

For complete value discovery, you should use ‘Discover Down All’ (vertical) or ‘Discover Right All’ (horizontal).
