Performance Bottleneck in GL Balance and Account Analysis Reports

Avatar photoCustomer August 14, 2022 at 3:17 pm

Our GL Balance reports and Account Analysis reports are running extremely slowly. We don’t actively use GL Flex Value Security rules. Is there a Blitz Report profile option that can bypass this security check to improve performance?

Yes, if you are experiencing slow performance on GL Balance or GL Account Analysis reports and do not use security rules, you should investigate setting the profile option ‘Blitz Report Disable GL Flex Value Security’.

How should this profile option be configured to achieve the performance benefit?

Use the FND Profile Option Values report. This shows profile option values on all setup levels, including the user-visible value in addition to the internal system value.

You should set the profile option ‘Blitz Report Disable GL Flex Value Security’ to ‘Yes’. This disables the security check which is causing the slowness.

Where can I review the current profile option values across different levels (site, application, user) before making this change?

If we also suspect Operating Unit Security is slowing down reports, is there a similar profile?

Yes, there is a separate profile option, ‘Blitz Report Use Operating Unit Security’, that allows activating or deactivating operating unit security.
