Preparation involves thorough patch application and verification. Use the Blitz Report capability for DBAs to run custom queries utilizing AD_PATCH.IS_PATCH_APPLIED. This ensures all prerequisite EBS and ECC patches are correctly marked as ‘APPLIED’ before initiating the V6 upgrade scripts.

We need to extract large volumes of existing ECC data for comparison and validation post-upgrade. Can Blitz Report handle the administrative export of this data?

Yes, Blitz Report excels at Oracle Enterprise Command Center administration tasks. It provides a mechanism for exporting enriched dashboard data to Excel. Furthermore, since Blitz Report uses ECC SQL directly , it ensures that the extracted data logic is consistent with the pre-upgrade dashboards.

If we experience performance issues related to the ECC V6 upgrade, how can the DBA team quickly diagnose the database health?

    • Support December 9, 2024 at 9:33 pm

The DBA toolkit includes specialized reports for Database Health and Tuning. Specifically, access to updated AWR reports is critical for diagnosing performance regressions in multitenant environments post-upgrade.

We need to ensure that reports based on ECC SQL respect our security policies during data export.

Blitz Report enforces security by adhering to standard Oracle Virtual Private Database (VPD) security policies. This applies granular row- and column-level control to the data extracted, regardless of whether the source is a standard EBS table or an ECC data set.

If we were previously using Discoverer reports that were linked to ECC data, can we migrate them easily?

    • Support December 11, 2024 at 11:52 am

The migration process can be simplified. Blitz Report is positioned as the primary Oracle Discoverer replacement, offering automated migration of worksheets , allowing them to benefit from the direct access to the ECC data model via optimized SQL.

We need a process to easily share the SQL logic of the new V6 ECC reports with our consulting partners for configuration review.

    • Support December 13, 2024 at 2:28 pm

Since Blitz Report maintains full version control and an audit trail of the report’s SQL definition within the EBS instance , sharing and collaborating on the underlying logic becomes straightforward and traceable.
