We are actively trying to improve our monthly P&L reporting process, which demands flexible hierarchical analysis. Our current financial reporting methods, such as FSG reports, involve multiple steps and manually merging data into Excel, leading to ‘garbled financial accounting’ and slow turnaround times. We specifically need a tool that can analyze hierarchical elements like the ‘Parent Total’ for expenses and revenue, and pivot period data dynamically for comparison. Can Blitz Report automate this complex GL balance analysis?

      How does the period pivoting functionality work? We need to see accumulated balances from the start of the year up to the selected period, with each period displayed in its own column.

      When a user selects an ending period, the ‘GL Balance by Account Hierarchy’ report runs from the start of the financial year up to and including that period. The system automatically pivots the period data into individual columns in the resulting Excel sheet, providing immediate, structured comparative data.

      Can we filter the data further, perhaps limiting the output to specific account types like Assets or Liabilities, or multiple Hierarchy Top Values?
