I need to run a report for a list of twenty different cost centers. How do I input all of these values?

First, check the ‘Multiple Values’ checkbox next to the parameter, provided it is available. You can then either select values one by one from the LOV, or enter a semicolon-separated list of values manually.

What if I have a list of hundreds of values in an Excel sheet that I want to paste in?

For large lists, you should use the ‘Edit Field’ menu function. This allows you to copy and paste a list of parameter values directly from an Excel sheet. The values can be separated by a semicolon or a line feed.

Is there a limit to the length of the list I can paste?

Yes, using the ‘Edit Field’ menu function, you can enter lists of multiple parameter values up to a maximum length of 32000 characters.

And when I use this feature, does Blitz Report handle converting the list into a SQL IN-clause?

Yes, if the underlying SQL text includes a bind variable restriction and the ‘Multiple Values’ checkbox is checked, Blitz Report automatically replaces that restriction with an IN-clause during SQL execution, provided the parameter definition meets certain criteria.
