How to develop proven EBS reports using Oracle Enterprise Command Center SQLs

Avatar photoCustomer July 24, 2021 at 8:55 am

Our Supply Chain Management (SCM) team needs high-accuracy reports for Inventory and Costing, and since we use ECC dashboards for those modules, we want to leverage that established logic. How many ECC reports are available for import, and how does Blitz Report ensure ‘single source of truth’ for Inventory and Costing?

There are currently over 220 Oracle ECC reports available for integration. These cover core process areas relevant to your request, including Inventory, OPM, and Costing. By using the official ECC Oracle queries, Blitz Report guarantees that your custom extracts align with the logic used in the ECC dashboards, thereby creating a single source of truth for EBS and ECC reports.

For a complex report like a detailed Costing Sub Ledger extract, how fast is the process from identifying the ECC SQL to having a formatted Excel file ready for business users?

The process is exceptionally rapid. You locate the ECC SQL, paste it into Blitz Report, and the report is effectively created and ready to run in under 5 minutes. The result is a perfectly formatted Excel output file , overcoming the volume limitations and typical CSV format constraints associated with exporting directly from ECC dashboards.

Since ECC dashboards require regular upgrades (e.g., V4, V5, V6, V7, V9, V11) , does our Blitz Report installation need to constantly mirror these upgrade schedules?

Blitz Report operates independently as an EBS add-on. While keeping ECC upgraded is necessary for the dashboard side , the benefit of extracting the proven ECC SQL is that the underlying data logic remains sound. Blitz Report ensures continuous, high-performance reporting on that data, regardless of the ECC version complexities.

If a non-technical manager only needs 5 columns from a very wide Costing report generated from ECC SQL, can they customize the view themselves?

Yes, they can. While developers handle the core SQL, business users can modify the report layout using the folder style template functionality. This gives them the power to restrict the output to only the necessary columns (e.g., 5 columns) , which is key to improving user experience.
