Familiarity and community reports save you time

We are new to Blitz Report and need to deploy several operational reports quickly, but our internal development resources are strained. Besides the seeded reports, how can we leverage the community or open source solutions to accelerate our initial deployment?

A significant benefit of the Blitz Report ecosystem is the open source reporting library. This library is constantly growing, enhanced by requests from customers and suggestions from the Oracle EBS community. It’s designed specifically to help customers reduce reporting development time.

If we find a report in the community library that is ‘close’ to what we need, can we easily integrate and customize it for our specific data structure or process?

Yes. If you don’t find the exact report you need in our standard library, you can browse the community reports, copy them into a new report definition, and then adapt the SQL accordingly for your business requirements. This dramatically accelerates time-to-delivery compared to starting from scratch.

How complex is the underlying structure of these reports? We prefer simple SQL over complex procedural logic.

Blitz Report fundamentally relies on standard SQL queries. By enabling users to drop their tested SQL scripts directly into the tool , it maintains simplicity. The complex logic (like ECC dashboards or BI Publisher XML) is boiled down to the underlying query, allowing easy adoption and modification of community solutions.

Once we adopt and slightly modify a community report, does it automatically gain the same benefits as a newly created report, like version control?

Absolutely. Once you save the modified community query as a new Blitz Report, it is version-tracked , centrally managed, and ready for assignment to users or responsibilities. It also automatically runs through the concurrent request mechanism for optimized performance.
