Edge Browser File Download Failure (FNDWRR.txt)

When running a report and opening the output using the Edge browser, we get a file called FNDWRR.txt downloaded instead of the Excel file. This text file contains only ‘Authentication failed.’.

      This specific behavior in the Edge browser indicates a conflict with how it handles opening Office files. To resolve this, you must navigate to Edge Settings > Downloads and turn off the option ‘Open Office files in the browser’.

      Could browser extensions also cause this authentication failure?

      Yes, in Edge and other browsers, enabled browser extensions can sometimes interfere with the download process and should be temporarily disabled for retesting if the primary fix doesn’t work.
