Dynamically Naming Secondary Output Files

Avatar photoCustomer February 13, 2025 at 9:29 pm

I am saving reports to an additional directory. How do I define the naming convention for these output files?

You define the naming convention using the profile option ‘Blitz Report Additional Output Filename’. This applies to files written to a directory on the DB or APPS server if the corresponding directory profile is set.

What is the primary feature used to make these filenames dynamic?

Tokens can be used to build a file name template dynamically, for example, based on report parameter values.

Can I use date format strings as tokens in the filename?

Yes, tokens include “, which uses the actual run date in the specified Oracle date format string.

If I schedule a report to overwrite a file daily, how would that look?

You could set the profile to a template like `_` to overwrite the same file with refreshed data every time the scheduled request runs.
