Date Parameter Handling in Blitz FSG (JED Balance Type)

When using the Balance function with balance types like JED (Journal Effective Date), which accept a date parameter, are there specific format rules I must follow?

Yes, date formatting is critical for JED balance types, which accept date ranges (e.g., ’01/01/2007-05/01/2007′). You must avoid using the hyphen (‘-‘) as a date separator.

      Why is the hyphen restricted?

The hyphen (‘-‘) is internally reserved by Blitz FSG as the range delimiter. Using it as a date separator would lead to incorrect parsing of the date range.

What separator is recommended, and how should Excel cells be formatted?

We recommend using slashes (‘/’) as date separators. Additionally, format the dates as text in Excel to prevent regional settings from causing automatic format conversion issues that could reintroduce hyphens.
