Date Input Rules for Journal Effective Date Balance Types

I am using the JED (Journal Effective Date) balance type. Does the Period parameter accept standard date inputs, and how should I handle ranges?

Yes, for JED, JEDP, or JEDU balance types, the period parameter functions as a date parameter, accepting date ranges like ’01/01/2007-05/01/2007′.

If my regional settings use hyphens for dates (e.g., 01-01-2007), will that cause issues?

Yes, because the hyphen (“-”) serves as a range delimiter in Blitz FSG, you must avoid using it as a date separator.

What is the recommended date format to ensure compatibility?

We recommend using slashes (“/”) as date separators and ensuring that you format the dates as text in Excel to prevent automatic conversion based on your regional settings.

What is the difference between JED and JEDP?

JED captures journal activity that is both posted and unposted, while JEDP only includes posted journals for the specified date range.
