Cost Duplication for Rolled Up Assemblies

Avatar photoCustomer June 14, 2021 at 4:55 pm

We suspect we have major valuation errors where rolled up assemblies have item costs accidentally doubled up because they also have manually entered (user-defined) costs. Is there a report to find this specific issue?

Yes, the CAC User-Defined and Rolled Up Costs report is designed precisely to find items with both user-defined and rolled up costs across material and other cost elements, helping identify these duplication issues.

You must enter the ‘Cost Type’ you wish to report, such as Frozen or Pending, as this is a mandatory parameter.

Which cost type should I specify when running this report?

The report description mentions identifying ‘rolled up assemblies’. Which parameter should I use if I want to relate this to item transfers between organizations?

You can optionally enter the ‘Assignment Set’ parameter. This is the sourcing rule assignment set used when transferring items between inventory organizations on internal requisitions, providing context for cost flow.

I need to understand the definition of ‘manually entered material costs’ used in the report logic.

The report includes logic to identify and define manually entered material costs (Version 1.5 modified this definition), which helps differentiate between true user inputs and system-derived costs.
