Concurrent Manager Queues Overloaded with Pending Requests

Avatar photoCustomer May 13, 2025 at 7:31 am

Our users complain about long queues for reports. We suspect our Concurrent Managers might be undersized or poorly tuned. How can I assess the current workload and manager health?

You should use the FND Concurrent Managers report. This report displays the concurrent managers’ setup and current status, showing information like processes running and the number of requests that are running or pending.

We need to check specifically if we have a high number of requests currently pending. Is there an integrated check for that?

The report provides the same details as the standard Concurrent Manager administration forms. For tuning purposes, one best practice is to check for a high number of requests. A common script used to identify queues with 20 or more pending requests is detailed in the tuning documentation.

If the issue is confirmed to be high pending requests, what is the related tuning advice?

Best practices for tuning Concurrent Managers involve adjusting the queue size, tuning the sleep cycle, and tuning the number of processes. Remember the myth that ‘More Concurrent Managers are better’ is often false; keep it simple and use only a few well-tuned managers.
