Can I hide unnecessary parameters when a template is selected?

My primary report has ten parameters, but one specific summary template only uses three of them. The other seven are irrelevant. Can I hide those seven parameters when the user selects that template?

Yes, this functionality is available. You can define Excluded parameters for a template during template definition. When that template is selected on the Run window, the excluded parameters are not displayed.

That streamlines the experience. Does hiding the parameter also reset any default value it might have?

When a parameter is excluded, it is hidden from the display. If the underlying SQL relies on that parameter having a default or dynamic value when not explicitly input by the user, the parameter logic still executes, but the user interface is cleaner.

How do I define which parameters are excluded?

The option to define excluded parameters is part of the template setup in the Blitz Report Setup window. Once set, the visibility changes dynamically upon template selection on the Run window.

If I am a developer and want to quickly check if a report is accessible under a certain responsibility, where do I check the restricted list?

For developers, even if the Setup window shows all reports, the Run window reports List of Values (LOV) is still restricted by the current responsibility if the relevant profile option is set to ‘Yes’.
