Asset tracking integration with Install Base and Inventory

Avatar photoCustomer November 26, 2022 at 4:56 pm

Our asset tracking processes require complex reports that accurately integrate data housed separately in Oracle Install Base (CSI) and Inventory modules. We frequently face issues with pending transactions (Doc ID 2423449.1). How can we use Blitz Report to easily create reports that bridge these two distinct modules for troubleshooting?

This type of cross-module reporting, particularly linking Install Base and Inventory data for asset tracking, is highly streamlined using Blitz Report. Since Blitz Report uses pure SQL, you can write joins across the necessary SCM tables in Install Base and Inventory to create a comprehensive report that addresses issues like Oracle Asset Tracking Pending Transactions (Doc ID 2423449.1).

If we create a highly specific report just for Asset Tracking Pending Transactions, how quickly can it be distributed and utilized by the operational team?

    • Support November 29, 2022 at 3:30 pm

Report deployment is immediate. Once the query is developed and saved in Blitz Report, it can be assigned to the relevant user responsibilities or integrated via the Zoom function into an SCM form. This allows the operational team to execute the report instantly, running through the concurrent request mechanism , and receiving the Excel output immediately.

Since this involves complex technical data, we need assurance that the development and version history of the SQL are rigorously tracked.

All Blitz Report definitions, including those for complex Asset Tracking SQLs, benefit from full version control and audit history. This ensures that any changes made to the logic for addressing pending transactions are tracked, preventing version challenges and allowing for easy rollback if needed.

Can we include this Asset Tracking report within our project toolkit for system upgrades and validation?

    • Support December 5, 2022 at 2:27 am

Yes, absolutely. This report fits perfectly into the Blitz Report Toolkit framework, specifically under Operational reports or Support and Data Migration reports. It allows consulting teams to quickly validate data integrity across Install Base and Inventory post-upgrade.

I understand the output is Excel. Is there any way to output this complex data into a format suitable for Tableau or Power BI?

    • Support December 7, 2022 at 3:06 am

The output can be generated to CSV or other file types suitable for direct importing to analytical tools like Tableau or Microsoft Power BI, in addition to native Excel output.
