Asset tracking integration with Install Base and Inventory reporting

Avatar photoCustomer April 11, 2024 at 11:14 am

Our operational team needs clear, integrated reports linking items in Inventory to their deployed instances in Install Base for accurate asset tracking lifecycle reporting. This currently requires manually correlating data. How does Blitz Report facilitate easy, rapid report creation for this SCM cross-module requirement?

Blitz Report is highly effective for this type of integrated SCM reporting. The ability to write straightforward SQL queries that join the necessary tables across Inventory and Install Base allows you to achieve comprehensive asset tracking reports.

Can we create reports that specifically flag transactional errors where data might be out of sync between Inventory and Install Base, such as pending transactions that haven’t finalized the asset creation?

Yes, that’s a key diagnostic use case. You can design custom SQL within Blitz Report to mirror troubleshooting queries, such as those related to Oracle Asset Tracking Pending Transactions (Doc ID 2423449.1). This allows your operational teams to proactively identify and resolve synchronization issues before they impact the financial or maintenance modules.

If we define the report once, how flexible is the output format for different users—for example, if a Finance user wants CSV for data ingestion while an SCM user prefers Excel?

The output is highly flexible. Blitz Report allows users to report the data to CSV, native Excel, or other file types. This capability supports diverse functional needs, whether for detailed Excel analysis by the SCM team or for external data ingestion by other systems like Tableau or Power BI.

We need to ensure that the SQL complexity required for joining these modules is properly documented and version controlled.

When you save your cross-module query within the Blitz Report form, it automatically manages the full version control and audit history of that SQL script. This is essential for consulting teams managing extensions and ensures stable report definitions throughout your operational lifecycle.

And this ability to join complex SCM data does not suffer from row volume limits typical of older EBS tools?

    • Support April 25, 2024 at 3:14 am

Correct. Blitz Report is engineered to handle massive data volume exports efficiently, guaranteeing no volume limitations. This capability is critical when reporting on a high volume of assets and related transactions.
