Achieving Supply Chain Excellence: Creating the DIFOT Metric with Blitz Report in Order Management

Avatar photoCustomer September 21, 2025 at 8:34 am

Our current method for quantifying Delivery in Full On Time (DIFOT) relies on complex manual comparison of promised dates versus actual ship dates, along with checking ordered quantity against shipped quantity. This process is time-consuming and prone to human error, providing unreliable supply chain performance metrics. We want to adapt our existing Oracle data to automate this DIFOT metric calculation directly. Can we use the Blitz Report tool to customize an existing Order Headers and Lines report for this KPI calculation?

Measuring DIFOT is crucial for supply chain performance analysis. You can easily adapt the seeded Blitz Report ‘ONT Order Headers and Lines’ by modifying the query to calculate the required date and quantity differentials. This allows you to directly compare the `promise_date` vs. `actual_shipment_date` and `ordered_quantity` vs. `shipped_quantity` to determine ‘on time’ and ‘in full’ status.

If we allow reschedules, tracking the original promise date is vital. How do we capture historical changes to measure true date shifts?

For scenarios where the promise date changes, you would need to utilize either the sales history tables or configure Oracle EBS Audit functionality to track changes on the order line. Our documentation details how to implement audit capability for master data changes which can be adapted for order lines to measure those date shifts accurately.

Once the calculation is added, is it simple to migrate this new DIFOT custom report through our environments?

Yes. After testing, you can use the Blitz Report Export function to create an XML file of the report definition, ready for fast import into your UAT or production instances, ensuring zero version challenges.

This efficient approach ensures your DIFOT metric development time is dramatically reduced, enhancing the overall quality of your supply chain KPI reporting.
