Identifying Cost Rollup Configuration Errors

Avatar photoCustomer December 12, 2019 at 7:18 am

We need to identify items where the make/buy control settings conflict with costing settings, potentially leading to zero costs during rollup. For example, a make item set for rollup but missing a BOM or Routing.

You need the CAC Cost Rollup Controls Validation report. This report compares item make/buy controls versus costing based on rollup controls to find errors in your cost rollup results.

How many specific validation checks are included in this report?

There are twelve included reports. Examples include: ‘Based on Rollup Yes – No BOMS’ (finds make items set for rollup but missing BOMs, potentially rolling up to zero cost) and ‘Based on Rollup Yes – Buy Items’ (finds buy items set to be rolled up).

If I want to run the specific check for items that are not set to be rolled up but still have BOMs or Routings defined, which internal report type should I reference?

That scenario is covered by ‘Based on Rollup No – With BOMS’, which finds make items not set for rollup but where BOMs or routings exist.

What parameters are mandatory for running this entire set of validation checks?

The mandatory parameter is ‘Cost Type’ (Frozen or Pending).
