Prerequisites for VPD Policy Enforcement

Before I can effectively use the ‘Blitz Report VPD Policy Rule’ profile, what are the initial steps required to define the tables and create the policies?

      First, you must define the tables or columns that need to be secured in the lookup `XXEN_REPORT_VPD_POLICY_TABLES`. The meaning should contain the owner, table, and optional column name.

      Once the lookup is set up, what’s the next action?

      You must run the concurrent program ‘Blitz Report Update VPD Policies’. This program creates the policy function package `XXEN_VPD` and then creates the database policies for all tables and columns referenced in the lookup.

      Finally, how is access granted to secured data?

      The profile option ‘Blitz Report VPD Policy Rule’ is then set to ‘Full access’ for those users or responsibilities that need to bypass the restriction.
