Blitz Report™ Library

This library is a free open source SQL knowledge base for Oracle E-Business Suite customers and IT professionals. It contains SQLs that we created (category: Enginatics) and SQLs imported from Oracle’s BI Publisher reports (category: BI Publisher).

If you have Bitz Report installed, you can download a single or multiple reports as XML file from this library and automatically load them into your environment, including parameters, LOVs and category assignments.

If you would like to try one of these SQLs without having Blitz Report installed, as SQLs are composed dynamically at runtime, it is easiest to copy the query from the second tab of the example Excel sheet instead from the report’s detail page. Note that some of the reports require functions from utility package xxen_util.

To facilitate development work and help learning the EBS table structure, there are hyperlinks on each table to navigate directly to the corresponding Oracle ETRM record.

We also encourage you to contribute by adding your own SQL reports or suggesting enhancements and corrections to existing SQLs.
To add new reports, simply log in to our online demo environment, create a Blitz Report and it will automatically show up in this library (creation of a Blitz Report is shown here).

EIS Usage Summary
EIS eXpress Reporting usage by calendar month of the run start, to estimate the number of Blitz Report licenses required for the EIS user base. User Count is the number of distinct users who ran an EIS report in the month. User Count 60 Days is the number of distinct users in the 60 days before the month started, which corresponds to the rolling 60-day window that Blitz Report licensing is based on. Runs count executions from eXpress and XL Connect. A scheduled run counts for the user who created the schedule. Email distribution jobs are deliveries of a run and are not counted. EIS purges…

EIS Execution History
EIS report runs, one row per run from the EIS web interface (eXpress) or the Excel add-in (XL Connect). With Exclude Email Distribution set to No, the distribution jobs that deliver a run's output by email, FTP or file system are listed as separate rows as well. A run is flagged Scheduled when it started more than one day after the logon of its EIS session, as scheduled runs keep reusing the session in which the schedule was created. Delivery shows the channels set up for a run: Email for selected recipients or user groups, FTP and File System. Distribution job rows have no Rows Retrieved,…

EIS Execution Summary
EIS eXpress usage by report and month: one row per EIS report and calendar month of the run start, counting runs from eXpress and XL Connect. Email distribution jobs are deliveries of a run and are not counted. A run counts as scheduled when it started more than a day after the logon of its EIS session, because scheduled runs keep the session of the user who created the schedule. Errors are runs with status Error or Terminated. Executed within Days counts back from now, so the first month is partial. EIS purges its run history; EIS Execution History shows the earliest retained run.

EIS Import Validation
One row per EIS eXpress report with the Blitz Report the EIS import created from it, to check the import. A Blitz Report belongs to an EIS report when its description carries the line EIS Report ID: , which the import writes. Of several such Blitz Reports, a copy for example, the one named like the EIS report is shown, else the oldest. Status Imported with Issues: the Blitz SQL does not parse, or the import recorded migration tier XXEIS Code (the SQL still calls XXEIS objects) or Trigger (the report runs EIS trigger code in its DB package). Imported Tier is the tier the import wrote into…

EIS Overview
One-page summary of an EIS eXpress Reporting installation: the installed version, the number of standard and custom reports, and how actively the product is used and developed. The usage periods count back from the last report run rather than from today, so the figures are also meaningful on a cloned environment. Active Users ran at least one report. Report Developers created or changed a custom report, its columns, parameters or conditions; only the latest change of each record is stored, so earlier changes by other users are not counted. Report Users without Development ran reports but…

EIS Report Columns
EIS eXpress report column definitions: one row per column of an EIS report (eis_rs_report_columns), including disabled and hidden columns. Enabled blank means the column was removed from the report and EIS does not select it. Displayed blank means EIS selects the column but hides it, mostly ids without a display order. Calculation is the select expression of a derived column as EIS runs it: unqualified column names refer to the report view, and :Parameter Name tokens are replaced by the parameter values as literals. XXEIS Reference flags calculations that use an object of the XXEIS schema,…

EIS Report Conditions
EIS eXpress report conditions: one row per condition detail (eis_rs_report_cond_details). A Simple or Advanced condition has one detail per term, a Free Text condition one detail holding its SQL fragment, shown without the leading and. Condition Text renders the term as EIS adds it to the report SQL: item (view column with its alias, report column expression, expression text or :Parameter Name), operator and value. At run time EIS replaces :Parameter Name by the value as a literal, skips a condition whose parameter is empty and appends % to a like parameter value. Condition Text is blank for…

EIS Report Parameters
EIS eXpress report parameter definitions: one row per parameter of an EIS report (eis_rs_report_parameters), including disabled and hidden parameters. Operator comes from the conditions that use the parameter, which EIS applies, and not from the operator stored on the parameter; the two differ on some parameters. It is blank for a parameter that no enabled condition uses. Column Name is the view column the parameter was created for; an advanced condition can apply the parameter to an expression instead. Used In lists where EIS substitutes the parameter value: Condition (by reference or as…

EIS Report Security
One row per EIS eXpress report grant, with report set grants expanded to the reports of the set, mapped to the Blitz Report assignment of the same level: User, Responsibility or Request Group. Description holds the application of a responsibility or request group, which the Blitz Report Assignment Upload needs to identify it. Active: the user or responsibility is active, or the request group belongs to an active responsibility. The Assignment Upload accepts only active values. Blitz Enabled: the grant reaches an active responsibility with Blitz Report (function XXEN_REPORTS) on its menu.…

EIS Reports
One row per EIS eXpress report with its definition, usage, schedules and access grants, and the Blitz Report it was migrated to. Source Type follows the EIS runtime: the SQL pasted into the report, else the SQL of an EIS view of type SQL, else the database object named by the report's view, looked up in the registered owner, then APPS, then XXEIS. Missing means that none exists, so the report cannot run in EIS either. View Owner and View Status describe that database object. Runs count eXpress and XL Connect executions that started within Executed within Days. A run counts as scheduled when…

EIS Schedules
Pending requests of the EIS report submission programs, one row per schedule or future request, for recreating EIS schedules as Blitz Report schedules. A recurring schedule whose request is running is listed with that request, as the concurrent manager submits the next one only when the run completes. Report set schedules are not listed. Parameters and delivery settings are those of the EIS process that a schedule reuses for every run (EIS Process ID). EIS re-evaluates SQL parameter defaults at every run, and Increment Dates shifts the date parameters, so Last Run Parameters shows the values…

EIS Users
EIS users: one row per user who ran an EIS report within Executed within Days, owns a pending EIS schedule or holds an active responsibility whose menu grants EIS functions. Runs count eXpress and XL Connect executions. A run counts as scheduled when it starts more than a day after the logon of its EIS session, as scheduled runs keep the session in which the schedule was created. Active Schedules counts the requests EIS Schedules lists for the user: pending requests of the EIS report submission programs and the running request of a recurring schedule. EIS Responsibilities counts the user's…

EIS View Dependencies
Database objects referenced by the EIS report views, one row per view and referenced object (direct dependencies from dba_dependencies), with synonyms resolved to the object they point to. It shows which XXEIS objects the EIS reports still need before the XXEIS schema can be dropped. Only views that a report runs from are listed. Reports running from pasted SQL or from a SQL-type view have no database view and are not covered, although their SQL can reference XXEIS objects as well. Reports counts the reports running from the view, Active Reports those executed within Executed within Days…

EIS Views
One row per EIS view that has reports, with the structure of its SQL, the XXEIS objects it references and the usage of its reports. Source Type follows the EIS runtime: a view of type SQL runs from the SQL stored with it, any other from the database object of that name, looked up in the registered owner, then APPS, then XXEIS. View Owner and View Status describe that object. For a Missing view, Text Length and the SQL flags come from the SQL stored with the EIS view, where one exists. Union (also minus and intersect), Group By and With Clause are evaluated at the top level of the SQL,…
