| DBA Registry SQL Patch | DBA_REGISTRY_SQLPATCH contains information about the SQL patches that have been installed in the database.
A SQL patch is a patch that contains SQL scripts which need to be run after OPatch completes. DBA_REGISTRY_SQLPATCH is updated by the datapatch utility. Each row contains information about an installation attempt (apply or roll back) for a given patch. | System Enginatics, R12 only
| DBA Resource Limits | Current and highest utilization since instance startup of database resources such as processes, sessions and transactions, compared to their limits.
A Max Percent close to 100 shows that the instance reached the limit since startup. Reaching the processes or sessions limit causes ORA-00020 or ORA-00018 for new connections.
In a pluggable database, the database shows resource limits only in the container root. There the report shows the current number of processes and sessions against their parameter limits instead, without the highest utilization.
Schedule the report with Max Percent From,… full description | System Enginatics
| DBA Result Cache Objects and Dependencies | Shows result cache objects with the current number of cached results, the number of times these results were found and reused (scan count) and their dependency on objects causing the most frequent invalidations.
Warning !!!
Don't run this on a prod system during business hours as prior to DB version 12.2, selecting from v$result_cache_objects apparently blocks all result cache objects (see note 2143739.1, section 4.).
You may end up with all server sessions waiting on 'latch free' for 'Result Cache: RC Latch' while the report is running. | System Enginatics
| DBA Result Cache Statistics | Result cache statistics with size values in MB.
If the 'Maximum Size' is big enough, 'Create Count Failure' should be zero or low, same as 'Delete Count Valid', which depicts the number of valid cache results flushed out.
'Find Count' shows the number of cached results used (instead of executing the underlying sql/plsql) and should hence be as high as possible for maximum performance improvement.
A high number of 'Invalidation Count' or 'Delete Count Invalid' relative to 'Find Count' should get investigated further as it indicates a result_cache specified for code where the underlying data… full description | System Enginatics
| DBA SGA Active Session History | Active session history from the SGA.
Parameter 'Blocked Sessions only' allows a blocking scenario root cause analysis, e.g. by doing a pivot in Excel (see example in the online library).
The link to blocking sessions is deliberately nonunique without jointing to sample_id to increase the chance to fetch the blocking session's additional information such as module, action and client_id.
In some cases, such as row lock scenarios, the blocking session is idle and does not show up in the ASH then.
For scenarios where the blocking sessions are active and part of the ASH, Tanel Poder has a… full description | System Enginatics
| DBA SGA Blocking Session Summary | Summary of blocked and blocking sessions based on the active session history from the SGA.
The link to blocking sessions is deliberately nonunique without jointing to sample_id to increase the chance to fetch the blocking session's additional information such as module, action and client_id.
In some cases, such as row lock scenarios, the blocking session is idle and does not show up in the ASH.
We recommend doing further analysis with a pivot in Excel rather than by SQL, as Excel's drag- and drop is a lot faster than typing commands manually. | System Enginatics
| DBA SGA Buffer Cache Object Usage | SGA buffer cache space usage by object names (in MB).
'Object Percentage' shows how much of one particular object is currently stored in the buffer cache.
100% means that the object is completely in the buffer cache.
Current SGA memory usage is also listed in views:
select * from v$sga
select * from v$sgainfo
select * from v$sga_dynamic_components
Arup Nanda gives a good explanation on how the buffer cache works: http://arup.blogspot.ch/2014/11/cache-buffer-chains-demystified.html | System Enginatics
| DBA SGA CPU Load (active session history) | Aggregates active sessions by snapshot time to identify times with high CPU load over a specific 'CPU Sessions From' threshold value. | System Enginatics | |
| DBA SGA Memory Allocation | Current SGA memory usage in gigabytes, showing the split between buffer cache and shared pool | System Enginatics | |
| DBA SGA SQL Execution Plan History | Execution plan history for a particular SQL id from the SGA | System Enginatics | |
| DBA SGA SQL Performance Summary | Database SQL performance summary from the SGA to give an overview of top SQL load and performance issues.
The purpose of this report, compared to 'DBA AWR SQL Performance Summary' is to retrieve SQLs which are not in the AWR, either becasue they ran after the most recent snapshot or because their performance impact is too small to be written to the AWR (see topnsql https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/ARPLS/d_workload_repos.htm#ARPLS69140).
This is useful for example to:
-Identify SQLs executed by a particular program or UI function without running a trace. Navigate to the UI functionality… full description | System Enginatics
| DBA SGA Target Advice | Orace's SGA target advice view.
It shows an estimation of how an SGA resize would affect overall database time and IO. | System Enginatics
| DBA SGA Wait Event Summary (active session history) | Wait event and CPU usage summary from the SGA active session history. | System Enginatics | |
| DBA SGA+PGA Memory Configuration | Current SGA and PGA memory configuration in gigabytes.
A frequent configuration problem is not making full use of the available hardware resources, especially the physical RAM of the database server.
This report shows the servers SGA, PGA and CPU configuration in comparison to the available hardware.
For maximum performance, configure the SGA+PGA to use the full available memory of your server minus a few gig for OS level caching, e.g. for writing and reading of PLSQL output files on the DB node and for process memory (an estimated 4MB per process, see below).

| DBA SYSAUX Occupants | Space used in the SYSAUX tablespace by component.
All sizes are shown in MB.
The largest occupants are usually the AWR (SM/AWR) and the optimizer statistics history (SM/OPTSTAT). The SM/OPTSTAT row shows the statistics history retention in days and the oldest statistics still available. A lower retention, set with dbms_stats.alter_stats_history_retention, reduces the SYSAUX space used. | System Enginatics
| DBA Scheduler Jobs | System Enginatics | | |
| DBA Segments | Database segments such as tables, indexes, lob segments by size and total database size summary | System Enginatics | |
| DBA Session Longops | Estimated time to completion for long running sessions based on gv$session_longops | System Enginatics | |
| DBA Sessions | Current database sessions with their Oracle EBS user, responsibility, form or concurrent request, the SQL being executed, wait event, blocking session, and PGA, temp and undo usage. All sizes are shown in MB.
Status Duration is the time since the session last changed between active and inactive, so for an active session it is the run time of the current call. Temp Used and Undo Used are the space the session holds at the time of the report.
For a Blitz Report run inside a web service call, from the Excel add-in or a Blitz FSG drilldown, the user and responsibility are those of the run.… full description | System Enginatics
| DBA Table Columns | Report with all table column names based on dba_tab_columns, as finding tables by column names is a frequent task during SQL development | System Enginatics | |
| DBA Table Modifications | If table monitoring is activated, dba_tab_modifications shows the number of rows modified since the last time a table was analyzed. | System Enginatics | |
| DBA Tablespace Usage | Tablespace usage including currently active undo and temp tablepace usage in Megabytes | System Enginatics | |
| DBA Text Search | Full text search through database source code objects such as packages, procedures, functions, triggers etc.
The search can also be done using regular expressions.
To retrieve incorrect custom code such as a frequent performance issue calling the fnd_concurrent\.wait_for_request\s function with a zero interval time, for example, use parameter 'Multi Line Regex search' with the following value: fnd_concurrent\.wait_for_request\s*\(\s*request_id\s*=>\s*\w+\s*,\s*interval\s*=>\s*0\s*, | System Enginatics
| DBA Trace File Contents | V$DIAG_TRACE_FILE_CONTENTS contains trace data that is present in the trace files that are part of the current Automatic Diagnostic Repository (ADR).
Supported starting from Oracle Database 12.2. | System Enginatics, R12 only
| DBA Undo Statistics | Undo generation, longest running query and undo errors per 10-minute interval from gv$undostat, which keeps about four days of history.
All sizes are shown in MB, Undo Per Second in MB per second.
ORA-01555 snapshot too old occurs when a query needs undo that has already been overwritten. Compare the Longest Query Seconds with the Tuned Undo Retention Seconds: unexpired steal attempts and blocks show undo that was overwritten before its retention expired because the undo tablespace was too small. | System Enginatics
| DBA Users | Database user accounts with their status, lock and expiry dates, profile, tablespaces and quotas.
Default Password flags accounts that still have an Oracle-supplied default password (dba_users_with_defpwd). EBS Applications lists the Oracle EBS applications installed in the schema. | System Enginatics
| FND Application Context File | Context XML files retrieved from the database | System Enginatics | |
| FND Applications | Shows all applications, their installation status, correponding database schema, application top name and audit status | System Enginatics | |
| FND Attached Documents | FND attachments stored in the fnd_lobs table and their corresponding application entity e.g. sales orders that they are attached to. | System Enginatics | |
| FND Attachment Functions | FND attachment functions, their category assignments, forms blocks and block entities | System Enginatics | |
| FND Audit Setup | FND audit setup validation report including audit groups, audit tables and audited columns, and a check if the corresponding audit tables are created in columns 'Audit Table Name' and 'Audit Column Exists'.
Oracle's standard audit trail works with a concurrent program 'AuditTrail Update Tables', which creates a set of database triggers for updates, inserts and deletes. The triggers write table changes to an audit table with the name: audited_table_A.
The whole audit trail setup process is describe in this blog:… full description | System Enginatics
| FND Audit Table Changes by Column | Reports all changes to an audited application table.
The report has one row per audit transaction and audited column showing the old and new audit column value. | System Enginatics
| FND Audit Table Changes by Record | Reports all changes to an audited application table.
The report has one row per audit transaction showing the old and new values for all audited columns in a single row. | System Enginatics
| FND Concurrent Managers | Concurrent managers' setup and current status, e.g. processes and requests running, pending etc.
Shows the same information as Concurrent->Manager->Administer and Concurrent->Manager->Define | System Enginatics
| FND Concurrent Program Incompatibilities | Concurrent Program Incompatibilities | System Enginatics | |
| FND Concurrent Programs and Executables | Concurrent programs, executables and program parameters | System Enginatics | |
| FND Concurrent Request Conflicts | Lists concurrent requests that were held by the conflict resolution manager and shows their conflicting / blocking requests which were running at the time between the requested start date and conflict release date.
This might not work 100% (it doesn't consider request set conflicts yet), but should give a good indication of most conflicting scenarios. | System Enginatics
| FND Concurrent Requests | Running, scheduled and historic concurrent requests including phase, status, parameters, schedule, timing, delivery and output option information.
For performance analysis of running requests, the report contains sid, currently executed sql_id and sql_text and distribution of wait time on different wait classes.
Use parameter 'Scheduled or Running' to get a list of all currently scheduled or running requests. | System Enginatics
| FND Concurrent Requests Summary | Concurrent programs sorted by the sum of their historic execution times | System Enginatics | |
| FND Cross-Validation Rules | Cross-validation rules of key flexfield structures, one row per rule element (include or exclude range).
Show Violating Combinations lists the enabled accounting flexfield combinations that fail an enabled and currently active rule instead, one row per combination and violated element. A combination outside every include range of a rule is shown against element type Include with blank ranges, a combination inside an exclude range with that exclude range. Oracle validates a combination only when it is created, so combinations created before a rule was defined or tightened stay enabled… full description | System Enginatics
| FND Data Groups | System Enginatics | | |
| FND Debug and Trace Settings | Profile option values that switch on debug logging, SQL trace or a custom initialization SQL statement, at any level, and concurrent programs with SQL trace enabled.
Debug and trace settings left on in production slow down processing and fill the FND_LOG_MESSAGES table and the database trace directory.
Profile options are selected by internal names containing DEBUG or TRACE, excluding file, directory and module settings, plus FND: Debug Log Enabled and Initialization SQL Statement - Custom. Values N, No, F, 0, Off and None are not shown. | System Enginatics

| FND Document Sequences | Document sequence details including database sequence name and last seqeunce number. | System Enginatics | |
| FND Flex Value Hierarchy | Flexfield value hierarchy showing a hierarchical tree of parent and child relations and child ranges.
Parameter 'Parents without Child only' can be used to validate the hierarchy for nodes where the child range does not include a single child value.
The query is based on a treewalk through table fnd_flex_value_norm_hierarchy, which contains one record for every parent node, and a range_attribute column to indicate if the child value low/high range should match either parent nodes or child values.
While table fnd_flex_value_norm_hierarchy contains one record for each hierarchy node, table… full description | System Enginatics
| FND Flex Value Security Rules | Flexfield value security rules, rule elements (included or excluded flexfield value ranges), flexfields where the secured value set is used and responsibilities that the rule is assigned to. | System Enginatics | |
| FND Flex Value Sets, Usages and Values | Value sets and values including usages, validation type, format type, validation table, columns etc. | System Enginatics | |
