Blitz Report™ Library

This library is a free open source SQL knowledge base for Oracle E-Business Suite customers and IT professionals. It contains SQLs that we created (category: Enginatics) and SQLs imported from Oracle’s BI Publisher reports (category: BI Publisher).

If you have Bitz Report installed, you can download a single or multiple reports as XML file from this library and automatically load them into your environment, including parameters, LOVs and category assignments.

If you would like to try one of these SQLs without having Blitz Report installed, as SQLs are composed dynamically at runtime, it is easiest to copy the query from the second tab of the example Excel sheet instead from the report’s detail page. Note that some of the reports require functions from utility package xxen_util.

To facilitate development work and help learning the EBS table structure, there are hyperlinks on each table to navigate directly to the corresponding Oracle ETRM record.

We also encourage you to contribute by adding your own SQL reports or suggesting enhancements and corrections to existing SQLs.
To add new reports, simply log in to our online demo environment, create a Blitz Report and it will automatically show up in this library (creation of a Blitz Report is shown here).

AD ADOP Sessions
Online patching (adop) sessions of Oracle EBS 12.2 with one row per node and phase, showing the status, start and end time and duration of each phase. Phases that do not apply to a session, for example all phases but apply in a hotpatch session, are not shown. The Patches column lists the patches applied in the session's apply phase.
System Enginatics, R12 only XLS XML
AD Applied Patches
AD applied patches, patch runs, included bugs, filenames and actions
System Enginatics XLS XML
AD Applied Patches R12.2
Check if a specific patch is applied in 12.2
System Enginatics XLS XML
AD Code Levels
Code level and baseline of each Oracle EBS product and product family, as maintained by the patching utilities in AD_TRACKABLE_ENTITIES. Patch readme files and My Oracle Support notes state prerequisites as code levels, for example R12.AD.C.Delta.15 for AD code level C.15.
System Enginatics, R12 only XLS XML
AD Patch Task Timing
Run time of each job of an adpatch, adop or upgrade session from AD_TASK_TIMING, to identify the jobs that took longest. Session Percentage is the job's share of the total elapsed time of all jobs in the session. Jobs run in parallel by several workers, so the session's wall clock time is shorter than the sum of the job times.

DBA AWR Active Session History

DBA AWR Blocking Session Summary
Summary of blocked and blocking sessions based on the active session history from the AWR. The link to blocking sessions is deliberately nonunique without jointing to sample_id to increase the chance to fetch the blocking session's additional information such as module, action and client_id. In some cases, such as row lock scenarios, the blocking session is idle and does not show up in the ASH. We recommend doing further analysis with a pivot in Excel rather than by SQL, as Excel's drag- and drop is a lot faster than typing commands manually.
System Enginatics XLS XML
DBA AWR CPU Load (active session history)
Aggregates active sessions by snapshot time to identify times with high CPU load over a specific 'CPU Sessions From' threshold value.
System Enginatics XLS XML
DBA AWR CPU vs Wait Time Summary

DBA AWR Interconnect Traffic
Displays information about the usage of an interconnect device by instance in a RAC configuration. ipq - Parallel query communications dlm - Database lock management cache - Global cache communications All other values are internal to Oracle and are not expected to have high usage.
System Enginatics XLS XML
DBA AWR Latch Summary
Summary of latch statistics such as misses and wait times for a specified snapshot time interval
System Enginatics XLS XML
DBA AWR Latch by Time
Latch contention wait time history. Each row shows the system-wide latch contention wait time per latch name of one AWR snapshot interval to identify high latch contention at specific times.

DBA AWR SQL Performance Summary
Database SQL performance summary from the Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) tables to give an overview of top SQL load and performance issues. The report shows the summarized execution stats such as elapsed time and IO figures for a certain timeframe for individual SQL_ID and plan hash value combinations. All IO figures are shown in MB. Parameter 'Level' can be switched to aggregate data either by Module or by individual SQL and to show summarised figures or to split them by day. The default sorting shows the most CPU intensive SQLs on top, as the tuning goal is usually server load…

DBA AWR Settings
Automatic workload repository settings such as retention period, snapshot interval and number of top SQLs to capture (from table underlying the view dba_hist_wr_control). Note that for executing Blitz Report queries on AWR data, you require a Diagnostic pack license as explained in Oracle's note KB136730: https://support.oracle.com/support/?kmContentId=1490798 topnsql=DEFAULT means the database captures the top 30 SQLs from 5 different categories (Elapsed Time, CPU Time, Parse Calls, Shareable Memory, Version Count) for each snapshot interval. So the default setting would capture a maximum…

DBA AWR System Metrics Summary
Historic system statistics from the automated workload repository showing CPU load, wait time percentage, logical (buffer/RAM) and physical read and write IO figures, summarized in snapshot time intervals. All IO figures are measured in MB/s. -CPU%: Total CPU usage percentage. If this is low, the hardware is underused and performance could potentially get improved by using it better e.g. by resolving IO bottlenecks (bigger RAM, faster storage) or parallelization of SQLs and user processes. -WAIT%: Percentage of time that the DB process spends waiting rather than processing. If the wait% is…

If the database is running in ARCHIVELOG mode, the amount of generated archive log is shown. For databases on NOARCHIVELOG, the approximate amount of generated redo is calculated by the number of log switches per hour and log file size. Note that this log rate is just an approximated maximum as switches could also occur without the log files being full. Redo log files are located here: select * from sys.v_$logfile

DBA CPU Benchmark2
Benchmark report to measure a database server's CPU speed, mainly for PLSQL processing. This report generates an output file of 200000 records from dual. As the query itself should complete in less than a second, most of the execution time is spend in PLSQL code to generate the Blitz Report output file. To measure meaningful results, there should be enough SGA memory assigned to ensure that the execution time is entirely spent on CPU and not IO related wait events (to be confirmed using the DBA SGA Active Session History report). example performance for different CPU…

DBA Data Files
Data and temp files per tablespace with their size, free space, autoextend settings and the space still available up to the maximum size. All sizes are shown in MB. Available Size and Max Used Percent take autoextend into account, so they show how close a file is to its real limit. Used and free space of temp files are shown by DBA Tablespace Usage. In Backup Mode flags data files left in hot backup mode (alter tablespace ... begin backup).
